The Rawalpindi Campus of the National College of Arts (NCA) is the twin-city branch of Pakistan’s oldest art institution, whose main campus is on The Mall in Lahore. Located on Liaquat Road near Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi, the campus brings NCA’s fine arts, design, multimedia and architecture programs to students of Rawalpindi, Islamabad and northern Punjab.
About the Campus
NCA traces its history to the Mayo School of Arts founded in 1875, and it is a degree-awarding institution under the federal government. The Rawalpindi campus was opened to extend NCA’s reach to the capital region; the official campus page does not state the exact year of establishment, so check the official website for the history.
According to the official campus page, the Rawalpindi campus has four faculties – Fine Arts, Design, Multimedia Art and Architecture – and lists departments of Visual Communication Design (VCD), Fashion Design and Textile Design. The campus also runs a busy short-course program: certificate courses in drawing and painting, interior design, graphic design, fashion design and textiles, and sculpture, plus summer camps in drawing, printmaking, calligraphy, photography, beginner filmmaking and music.
