The BS Computer Science at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) is a four-year, eight-semester degree run by the Department of Computer Science at the university’s main campus in Sector H-8, Islamabad. AIOU is Pakistan’s federal distance-learning university, and uniquely it offers the BSCS both as a face-to-face (F2F) program at the main campus and in open distance learning (ODL) mode through its regional network.

Eligibility Criteria
AIOU requires a minimum of 50% marks in Intermediate, 12 years of schooling or A-Level (HSSC) or equivalent with Mathematics; an IBCC equivalence certificate is needed for foreign or non-standard qualifications, and the departmental admission committee decides eligibility. Admission Process
- Apply online through the AIOU Online Admission System (OAS) linked from aiou.edu.pk during the Autumn or Spring admission window.
- Select the program code for the mode you want (F2F 5117, F2F-WDC 5118, ODL 5119, ODL-WDC 5120) and upload documents.
- Pay the first semester fee through the bank challan or digital channels generated by the portal.
- F2F applicants are admitted on merit announced by the department; ODL applicants receive study material and tutor allocation after fee confirmation.
