The Associate Degree in Business Administration at NUML is a two-year (four-semester) undergraduate program offered by the Department of Management Sciences at the Islamabad main campus and at the Lahore and Karachi campuses.

Program Overview

The Associate Degree in Business Administration (ADBA) is a two-year, four-semester qualification that replaced the old BCom/BA two-year route under the HEC undergraduate policy. The content mirrors the first two years of a BBA: principles of management, accounting, marketing, microeconomics and macroeconomics, business communication, computer applications and quantitative methods. After the associate degree, students can enter the job market or apply to bridge into the fifth semester of a BBA/BS program subject to the university rules in force at the time.

It is a sensible option for students who want a recognised degree quickly, who are not yet sure about committing four years, or who need a lower-cost entry point into business studies. NUML offers it at only three locations – Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi – according to the official program list.

Admission Process

  1. Create an account on the NUML Admission Portal and fill in the online form.
  2. Upload a passport-size photograph with a blue background along with scanned academic documents and CNIC/B-form.
  3. Pay the non-refundable admission processing fee of Rs. 2,500 (Source: numl.edu.pk/admissions). A separate form fee applies if you add priorities in another faculty.
  4. Choose your program priorities within one faculty on the same form. Priority 1 is the one you are tested or interviewed for; other priorities are considered on merit.
  5. Appear for the departmental test/interview on the date shown on the portal, then watch for the merit list and pay the semester fee within the given window.

Late or incomplete forms are rejected (official admissions page). For the test format see our NUML entry test page.

Fee Structure

NUML publishes a Fee Structure Fall 2026 PDF on its fee page (numl.edu.pk/admission/fee). Per-semester tuition differs by campus and shift, so check the official website for the current figure. NUML notes that fees rise by about 5-10 percent a year; refunds are 100 percent in the first week of classes, 50 percent in the second week and nil after 15 days.

Career Scope in Pakistan

Associate degree holders in business usually take up office administration, accounts assistant, sales coordinator, customer support and data-entry supervisory roles, or join family businesses with a formal grounding. The more common path is to continue into the third year of a BBA or BS program, which opens the same management and banking careers as a full four-year degree. The two-year certificate is also accepted for many clerical and junior public-sector posts.
