BS Psychology (Clinical) – National University of Modern Languages

BS Psychology (Clinical) is a four-year specialised undergraduate degree offered by the Department of Psychology at the NUML Lahore campus, under the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of Modern Languages.

Program Overview

The clinical track of BS Psychology at NUML Lahore builds on the standard four-year psychology core – introduction to psychology, biological and cognitive psychology, developmental and social psychology, statistics and research methods, personality and abnormal psychology – and then adds the clinical emphasis: psychopathology, psychological assessment and testing, counselling and psychotherapy approaches, and supervised clinical placements. A research thesis in the final year is typical of NUML BS programs.

This specialisation is for students who want to work with people experiencing mental-health difficulties and who are prepared for a long training path, since independent clinical practice in Pakistan requires further postgraduate study. Strong reading and listening skills matter more than any particular intermediate group.

Eligibility Criteria

The NUML Fall 2026 eligibility list gives BS Psychology the general social-sciences condition: Intermediate with at least 45 percent marks, or A-level with 50 percent, in any group. The official programs page shows the Clinical and Health tracks at the Lahore campus only. No separate written entry test is listed; admission is on merit with a departmental interview/test through the portal.

Admission Process

1. Create an account on the NUML Admission Portal and fill in the online form.
2. Upload a passport-size photograph with a blue background along with scanned academic documents and CNIC/B-form.
3. Pay the non-refundable admission processing fee of Rs. 2,500 (Source: numl.edu.pk/admissions). A separate form fee applies if you add priorities in another faculty.
4. Choose your program priorities within one faculty on the same form. Priority 1 is the one you are tested or interviewed for; other priorities are considered on merit.
5. Appear for the departmental test/interview on the date shown on the portal, then watch for the merit list and pay the semester fee within the given window.

Fee Structure

NUML publishes a Fee Structure Fall 2026 PDF on its fee page (numl.edu.pk/admission/fee). Per-semester tuition differs by campus and shift, so check the official website for the current figure. NUML notes that fees rise by about 5-10 percent a year; refunds are 100 percent in the first week of classes, 50 percent in the second week and nil after 15 days.

Career Scope in Pakistan

Clinical psychology is one of the fastest-growing applied fields in Pakistan. BS graduates can start as psychology associates or trainee counsellors in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, special-education schools and NGOs, or as research assistants. To practise independently as a clinical psychologist they usually complete an MS/MPhil or an ADCP. Schools, corporate wellness programs and telehealth platforms are additional employers.
