GCU Lahore Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27

This record summarises the Fall 2026 undergraduate admission cycle at Government College University (GCU) Lahore, covering around 70 BS, BFA, LLB, B.Ed and Pharm-D programs in morning and evening sessions. GCU admits once a year for Fall through its online portal at gcuonline.pk; the university issued a Phase II policy document for Fall 2026, and no Spring 2027 undergraduate intake is advertised.

Eligibility Criteria

The general requirement is a minimum of 50% marks in Intermediate Part I, DAE (years I and II) or AS Level. Higher or different thresholds apply for some programs: BFA 45%, BSc Electrical Engineering 60%, BS Information Security Engineering Technology 60% and Pharm-D 60%. Computing programs need Mathematics at Intermediate (or Pre-Medical with two Mathematics deficiency courses). Candidates must have appeared in their final examination and submit the result on time; composite or combined Part I and II examinations and supplementary examinations in Part I make a candidate ineligible. LLB applicants must pass the HEC LAT before the closing date.

How to Apply

1. Create an account on the Online Admission Portal at gcuonline.pk and fill in the application for each program you want.
2. Pay the processing fee of Rs 1,000 per subject at any UBL branch in Pakistan; UBL Omni and mobile app payments are not accepted.
3. Upload scanned Matric and Intermediate Part I results and identity documents; a hard copy is not required until merit lists are displayed.
4. Appear in any prescribed test (GCU Test or ECAT for engineering, LAT for LLB, practical or fitness tests for BFA and Physical Education).
5. Check the merit lists on gcu.edu.pk; shortlisted candidates attend document verification or interview with original credentials and pay the fee.

Entry Test and Merit

For standard programs merit is Matriculation or O-Level 20% plus Intermediate, DAE or AS Level 80%, with 20 extra marks for Hafiz-e-Quran candidates who pass the oral test. Engineering programs weight academic results at 70% and the GCU Test, ECAT or a PEC-approved test at 30%. The Department of Computer Science’s own criteria page describes a merit of Intermediate 60% plus entry test 40% for BS Computer Science, with a previous closing merit of about 69.72%, so applicants should confirm whether a departmental test is scheduled in the current cycle. Fee and Scholarships

GCU’s admissions page does not publish a consolidated fee table; semester fees for morning and evening programs are issued with the admission notification, so check the official website for the current amounts.
