All BE programs, B.Arch and BS Computer Science require at least 60% marks in HSC (candidates with 57% or more in HSC-I may apply but must reach 60% to confirm admission). Some programs have subject-specific conditions described in Chapter 4 of the Undergraduate Prospectus, and every applicant must qualify the NED Pre-Admission Entry Test with at least 50%.
How to Apply
- Register on the NED Admission Web Portal and log in with your credentials.
- Complete the online application form and upload a photograph that meets the stated guidelines.
- Pay the application fee at the designated bank using the Transaction ID printed on your transaction slip (the fee amount is shown on the slip).
- Download your admit card once the payment is confirmed and your photo is accepted.
- Appear in the computer-based entry test in Phase I or Phase II (or both – the higher score counts; each attempt is charged separately).
- Watch the call lists on the website; if called, print the form with Annexures I and II signed by an Oath Commissioner.
- Attend the interview with original documents, pass the medical fitness test (including chest X-ray) and pay the admission fee in cash or pay order in favour of Director Finance, NEDUET.
Entry Test and Merit
The NED Pre-Admission Entry Test is computer based and consists of MCQs in four sections of 25 marks each; the subjects depend on your HSC group. The merit score is calculated as 40% HSC marks plus 60% entry test marks, and the university stresses that admissions are purely on merit. Candidates who have already completed HSC or A-Level are assessed under Chapter 4 of the prospectus. Preparation advice is on our NED entry test page; see also the entry tests archive.
Fee and Scholarships
Regular-seat semester fees are not stated in the FAQ, so check the official website for the current fee schedule. For reference, the FAQ lists self-finance seats at Rs. 890,000 plus 3% tax and sponsored or foreign-student seats at Rs. 1,100,000 plus 3% tax (source: NED FAQ 2026 linked above). Selected candidates pay the admission fee on the interview day in the amount shown against their name in the call list. NED offers need-based financial assistance and endowment scholarships; details are on the university website, and other options are listed in our scholarships section.
