Eligibility Criteria

VU admits on eligibility rather than competitive merit for BS and ADP programs: any candidate who meets the minimum qualification is admitted. The official procedure page states that result-awaiting applicants need at least 45% in Intermediate Part-I for non-computing ADP/BS programs and at least 50% in Part-I for computing programs (BSCS, BSSE, BSIT, BS Data Science and computing ADPs), with the required subjects. The full minimum qualification for each program (usually Intermediate or equivalent with a stated percentage and subjects) is listed program-wise on the VU website – check it before applying.

A/O-Level and foreign-qualification holders must obtain IBCC or HEC equivalence certificates. Applicants may pay for only one program; paying for several can cancel all of them.

How to Apply

  1. Check the minimum eligibility of your program on vu.edu.pk and keep your CNIC/B-Form, a personal email and mobile number, a blue-background photo and clear scans of your certificates ready (not mobile photos).
  2. Sign up on the online admission portal (vu.edu.pk/apply), enter your CNIC correctly and complete the form, selecting one program and the campus you want to be attached to.
  3. Upload your documents in the registration interface and submit before the closing date.
  4. Deposit the admission processing fee through the generated bank challan (Rs. 500 in the Fall 2025 cycle – confirm the current amount).
  5. Result-awaiting students upload their final result and submit hard copies before classes begin; provisionally admitted students must submit hard copies before mid-term exams or admission may be blocked.
  6. Receive your student ID and LMS login and start lectures from the first day of the semester.

Entry Test and Merit

There is no entry test for VU’s BS, associate degree, B.Ed. or diploma programs; admission is open to all eligible applicants. An entry test applies only to MS Computer Science and MBA (equivalent to MS), where candidates must score at least 50% in the VU entry test and pass an interview. Our VU entry test page explains the postgraduate test; undergraduates can ignore it.

Fee and Scholarships

Official local fee structure (vu.edu.pk/FeeStructure_Local): for BS and associate degree programs the one-time admission fee is Rs. 3,000, the one-time registration fee is Rs. 2,500 and tuition is Rs. 935 per credit hour; MS programs are Rs. 7,000 admission and Rs. 2,750 per credit hour. Examination and other charges are listed on the fee page; confirm there before paying.

VU has a separate reduced fee structure for students with disabilities (published on its site) and offers merit and need-based fee concessions through its financial assistance schemes. See our scholarships archive and the official site for current schemes.
