The Laar Campus of the University of Sindh is located in Badin, the district headquarters of the Laar region in the far south of Sindh. It started in 2007 as Laar College at Badin, a constituent college of the university, and was re-designated as a full campus in 2010, according to the official campus page.
About the Campus
The official page (usindh.edu.pk/page/40) records that the Chief Minister of Sindh allotted 93 acres of land free of cost in 2010 for a purpose-built campus, and that the provincial government approved a PC-I for construction in fiscal year 2013-14. The campus is coordinated by an Associate Professor as Campus Coordinator and can be reached at pvc.laar@usindh.edu.pk. Badin is an agricultural and coastal district with oil and gas fields, and before this campus opened students had to travel to Hyderabad or Jamshoro, roughly three hours away, for degree education.
