Multan is the largest city of southern Punjab and a key location for the Virtual University of Pakistan, which runs its online degree programs through local campuses here. VU, headquartered in Lahore, was set up by the federal government in 2002 as a public, HEC-recognised online university with support campuses in well over a hundred cities. This page explains how the model works in Multan (Punjab).
About the Campus
As the regional centre for districts such as Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari and Muzaffargarh, Multan attracts students who want to study while staying close to home. VU’s flexible model suits those who are working, married or unable to travel daily to a campus-based university.
VU is a federally chartered public university built for online education. Faculty record lectures that are streamed through the LMS and broadcast on VU’s TV channels; students interact with tutors through discussion boards. City campuses are not teaching colleges – they provide labs, admission support and exam logistics.
Campuses in Multan may be either VU-run campuses or Private Virtual Campuses (PVCs) operated by affiliated private colleges. VU keeps an official, province-wise campus directory at vu.edu.pk/pvcs showing each campus name, code and address. Use that directory to find the current Multan campus nearest to you.

Full details are on our VU Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27 page.
