UMPK Entry Test 2026-27

The University of Mirpurkhas (UMPK) uses a pre-entry test for admission to its 4-year BS and BBA programmes. This guide explains which programmes need the test, what is known about its pattern, eligibility, registration, the 2026-27 schedule and preparation. Which Test Is Required

UMPK conducts its own pre-entry test for all 4-year morning BS/BBA programmes (Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, BBA, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, English, Geology, B.Ed 4-year). Fifth-semester lateral-entry, evening self-finance and weekend programmes are reported to be admitted without a test. UMPK does not use NTS NAT, HEC HAT, ETEA, ECAT or MDCAT.

Test Pattern

The official pages we reviewed do not publish the test structure. The 2026 advertisement reported a minimum of 30 marks to qualify.

Eligibility

• Intermediate (HSC-II) or equivalent in a relevant group; science/computer science background for BS CS, IT, Data Science and AI.
• Candidates awaiting HSC-II or A-level results can register and appear conditionally (reported).
• Fifth-semester entry: BA, Associate Degree or 14-year equivalent.

Registration and Fee

Register on the online admission portal linked from umpk.edu.pk, generate the challan of Rs. 3,000 and deposit it at the designated UBL account; the roll-number slip is released after verification (reported from the advertisement — confirm on the official website).

Schedule

2027 session (reported): registration 14 September to 16 October 2026; pre-entry test Sunday 1 November 2026. 2026 session (reported): registration 10 September to 10 October 2025; test 9 November 2025, which 749 candidates sat. UMPK’s cycle therefore runs September to November each year — check the official website for exact dates.

Merit Formula

Merit is based on the pre-entry test score and previous academic record, as reported; the exact weightage is not published. Check the prospectus on the official website.

Preparation Tips

• Revise intermediate English — tenses, prepositions, vocabulary and short comprehension passages.
• Practise arithmetic, percentages, ratios and basic algebra; computing applicants should also review FSc mathematics.
• Read general knowledge about Pakistan and Sindh, current affairs and basic science.
• Solve timed MCQ sets so you comfortably clear the qualifying threshold.
• Reach the Mirpurkhas campus early on test day with your roll-number slip and CNIC/B-Form.
