BS Accounting and Finance at the National University of Modern Languages is a four-year undergraduate program run by the Faculty of Management Sciences. It is taught at the Islamabad main campus and at the Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, Peshawar and Rawalpindi campuses.

Program Overview

BS Accounting and Finance (BSAF) concentrates on the measurement and management of money inside organisations. The curriculum runs through financial accounting, cost and management accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate finance, investment analysis and financial reporting standards, supported by business law, economics and statistics. Compared with a BBA, the finance and accounting content is deeper and more technical, which is why many students treat BSAF as a route toward ACCA, CA or CFA.

The program suits students who are comfortable with numbers, like structured rules and want a profession with clear qualification ladders. Commerce and ICom students will find the early courses familiar; pre-engineering and pre-medical students can also apply, since NUML does not restrict the intermediate stream.

Career Scope in Pakistan

Accounting and finance graduates are needed by every registered company, so demand is steady. Typical first jobs are in audit firms, bank operations and credit departments, the finance sections of manufacturing and telecom companies, tax consultancies and the public-sector audit and accounts service. With a professional certification on top of the BSAF, graduates move into financial analysis, internal audit, treasury and CFO-track roles. Freelance bookkeeping for overseas clients is an increasingly common option as well.
