BS Data Science at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Nawabshah is a four-year, eight-semester science degree available in both the morning and the evening shift. Program Overview

Data Science blends statistics, programming and domain knowledge. Students study programming in Python and R, probability and statistics, linear algebra, databases and SQL, data wrangling and visualisation, machine learning, big-data tools, data mining and business analytics, finishing with a capstone project built on a real data set. The degree is more statistical than BS Computer Science and more applied than BS Mathematics.

It suits students who enjoy finding patterns in numbers and who are comfortable with both mathematics and coding. Intermediate pre-engineering, pre-medical and computer science groups can all apply for BS programmes at QUEST, subject to the 50 percent marks requirement.

Eligibility Criteria

According to the Batch-26 (2026) admission notice, candidates for BS programmes at QUEST must have passed HSC-II (intermediate), DAE or an equivalent examination in 2026 or earlier (not before the 2021 annual examination) with at least 50 percent marks, excluding Hifz-ul-Quran and grace marks. Pre-engineering, pre-medical and computer science groups are all considered for BS degrees, though the notice says admission of pre-medical candidates to BS Physics needs HEC permission. Regular and self-finance seats are for candidates domiciled in Sindh; applicants from other provinces can apply only under the self-finance scheme, and some seats are reserved for overseas Pakistanis and differently-abled candidates. Admission Process

Create an account on the QUEST admissions portal and complete the online form; the 2026 cycle opened on 25 April 2026.
Pay the processing fee through the online HBL challan generated by the portal.
Upload the scanned photo (blue background) and the deposited challan by the closing date, which was 24 May 2026 for Batch-26.
Sit the MCQ-based Pre-Admission Test at the Nawabshah campus (from 9 June 2026) carrying your admit slip and original CNIC or Smart Card.
Follow the merit lists, interview and admission dates announced on the portal and the university website.
