BE Energy Systems Engineering at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Nawabshah is a four-year, eight-semester morning-shift engineering degree in the Faculty of Engineering. It was created to address Pakistan’s energy shortfall and the shift towards renewable generation.

Program Overview

Energy Systems Engineering combines thermal, electrical and chemical engineering content around the generation, conversion, storage and efficient use of energy. Courses include thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, power plant engineering, solar photovoltaic and solar thermal systems, wind energy, bioenergy, energy storage, energy auditing and management, electrical power systems and energy economics and policy.

The degree fits students who want to work on solar, wind and conventional power rather than on general machines or circuits. Mathematics and physics at intermediate level must be strong, and an interest in sustainability and economics helps, since much of the work is about optimising cost and efficiency.
