Eligibility Criteria
IUB publishes a program-wise eligibility table. Most arts, social science and education programs require marks in FA/F.Sc. or equivalent (no test). BBA accepts FA/F.Sc./D.Com. Computing programs accept ICS, F.Sc., I.Com or FA provided the candidate has one of the listed subjects (Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics). BSc Electrical Power Engineering requires F.Sc. Pre-Engineering (1st division) plus ECAT or the IUB test; BS Botany requires F.Sc. Pre-Medical plus MDCAT or IUB test; BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics requires F.Sc. Pre-Medical with at least 45% plus a test.
Quotas exist for students from ex-FATA regions, students with disabilities (full fee concession through the Special Students Facilitation Center) and other reserved categories named in the advertisement.
How to Apply
- Read the Fall 2026 advertisement and the eligibility table for your program and campus.
- Create an account on the IUB e-portal and fill the online admission form, choosing programs and campus.
- Upload scanned documents and pay the processing fee by challan (amount on the official fee page).
- If your program requires a test (NAT, ECAT, MDCAT or the IUB test), register for the relevant batch of the IUB Special Test or submit your NTS/ECAT/MDCAT score.
- Check merit lists on eportal.iub.edu.pk/meritlists and pay the semester fee by the stated deadline to confirm the seat.
Entry Test and Merit
Merit for most IUB programs is simply the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Where a test is required the official table gives program-specific formulas: BSc Electrical Power Engineering 70% F.Sc. plus 30% test; BS Electrical Engineering Technology 80% academic plus 20% test; health sciences such as Human Nutrition 80% F.Sc. plus 20% test. IUB’s own Special Test (Undergraduate) is held in regular batches through the year. More on our IUB entry test page.
Fee and Scholarships
The official fee structure page shows a reduced schedule for several BS programs of Rs. 25,000 per semester in semesters 1-2, Rs. 30,000 in semesters 3-4, Rs. 35,000 in semesters 5-6 and Rs. 40,000 in semesters 7-8, and links the full Fall 2025 fee PDF (the latest posted) with program-level figures. Students of affiliated colleges get a 10% concession and alumni 25%. Confirm the Fall 2026 figures for your program on that page.
IUB offers financial aid for students from less-developed areas, the Honhaar scholarship, HEC need-based scholarships and a full fee waiver quota for students with disabilities – see iub.edu.pk/scholarships and our scholarships archive.
