The Bahawalnagar Campus of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a sub-campus situated on Minchanabad Road, Bahawalnagar, in southern Punjab. The official IUB campus page states that it was established in 2005 and that the campus is spread over 50 acres of land.
About the Campus
Bahawalnagar district borders India along the Sutlej and has a largely agricultural economy, with Bahawalnagar city, Chishtian, Haroonabad, Fort Abbas and Minchanabad as its main towns. The IUB sub-campus is the only public university campus in the district, so it plays a central role in local access to higher education, particularly for women whose families prefer them to study close to home.
According to the official campus page, the campus has 22 teaching departments offering more than 40 undergraduate and postgraduate programs in business management, natural and social sciences, arts and languages, and information technology. Teaching, examinations and degrees follow the same rules as the main Baghdad-ul-Jadeed campus in Bahawalpur, and the campus is listed alongside Abbasia, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed, Khawaja Fareed and Rahim Yar Khan as one of IUB’s five campuses.

Admissions at this Campus
There is no separate campus-level admission office for applications: all IUB admissions run through the central online portal, where the applicant chooses Bahawalnagar as the campus. Merit is generally the percentage of marks in FA/F.Sc., and certain programs (botany, nutrition, engineering technology, computing) require NAT, MDCAT, ECAT or IUB’s own test. Campus-wise merit lists are posted on the IUB e-portal. Full details for this cycle are in our IUB Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27 record.
Facilities
IUB’s main website notes that male and female student and faculty hostels are available at all campuses, including Bahawalnagar. The campus page links to general campus-facilities and hostel pages without campus-specific detail, so contact the campus for information on transport, labs and library hours.
