The Ghizer Campus of Karakoram International University (KIU) serves Ghizer district in the west of Gilgit-Baltistan, whose headquarters is Gahkuch. It is one of three KIU sub-campuses (with Hunza and Diamer) and has its own website at ghizer.kiu.edu.pk and a dedicated campus administration.
About the Campus
Ghizer is a long valley district stretching from Gilgit toward Chitral, with towns such as Gahkuch, Gupis, Yasin and Ishkoman. Distances to Gilgit are considerable in winter, so a local campus matters for students who would otherwise have to board in the city. The campus also runs skills programs such as the Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development Program (PMYSDP) batches listed on its site.
The official campus website lists three departments: Biological Sciences, Business Management (also called Management Sciences) and Educational Development. Its menu refers to degree programs, an associate degree program, regular and online degree programs, BS admission and an MBA program. The site does not give the campus establishment year or a street address.
