CUST Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

Capital University of Science and Technology runs its own admission test for undergraduate applicants, but it also exempts candidates who hold a valid HEC-approved test score. This page explains what the official admission policy says for 2026-27 and how to prepare. For the university overview see the CUST university profile.

Which Test Is Required

CUST’s approach is a hybrid: it conducts its own test in batches through the admission season, but it treats a valid HEC-approved score as equivalent, so students who have already sat USAT or an ECAT-type test need not sit again. The university test is typically a computer-based MCQ paper covering English, Mathematics and subject fundamentals; the official policy does not print the exact structure.

All BS programs require either the CUST admission test or a valid HEC-approved test result (for example HEC USAT/HAT or, for engineering, ECAT-type scores accepted under PEC rules). Pharm-D and LLB additionally follow their regulators’ requirements — LLB applicants need HEC’s LAT. Source: https://cust.edu.pk/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/CUST-Admission-Policy-Complete-MMA.pdf.

Preparation Tips

  • If you already hold a USAT or similar HEC-approved score, upload it to skip the university test.
  • Otherwise revise FSc-level English, Mathematics and your major-subject fundamentals; these form the core of most private-university tests.
  • Practise with timed MCQ sets to build speed — the test carries 40% of merit.
  • LLB applicants should prepare for HEC’s LAT separately and keep the score certificate ready.
  • Apply early in the cycle; earlier test batches leave time to improve if needed.
