NUMS Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

NUMS is one of the few Pakistani universities with two different entry test routes: the NUMS MDCAT for MBBS and BDS, and a flexible set of options for its BS programs. This page sets out both for the 2026-27 cycle, drawing on the official admissions pages. The NUMS university profile explains the university’s structure.

Which Test Is Required

  • MBBS and BDS: NUMS MDCAT, conducted by NUMS under PM&DC’s national MDCAT framework. The 2026 test (for session 2026-27) is marked closed on the official site and results are published.
  • BS programs (nutrition, public health, psychology, biological sciences and others): any one of NUMS MDCAT, NTS NAT (valid one year), HEC USAT (valid one year) or the online NUMS Admission Test.

Test Pattern

NUMS did not print the section breakdown on the pages we verified. The MDCAT follows the PM&DC syllabus (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Logical Reasoning) — confirm the current year’s structure on pmdc.pk.

Registration and Fee

BS applicants register at https://ugadmissions.numspak.edu.pk/ and pay Rs. 2,500 at any HBL branch; one fee covers all programs applied for. MDCAT registration runs through https://mdcat.numspak.edu.pk/; the fee for 2026 was not shown on the verified page — check the official website.

Schedule

Fall 2026 BS cycle (official): registration 30 June – 6 August 2026 (4:00 pm); online NUMS Admission Test 12 August; merit list 24 August; classes 17 September 2026. Source: https://numspak.edu.pk/news-detail/admission-open-undergraduate-session-fall-2026. A Spring 2026 BS round was also advertised earlier in the year, so a Spring 2027 round is likely around December–January — check the official website. NUMS MDCAT is normally held in September–October.

Merit Formula

BS programs (official): Test (MDCAT/NAT/USAT/NUMS test) 50% + HSSC 40% + SSC/O-Level 10%. MBBS/BDS: as per PM&DC and NUMS centralised admission rules — check the official website.

Preparation Tips

  • BS applicants with a valid NAT or USAT score can skip the NUMS test — check the one-year validity before relying on it.
  • MDCAT candidates should work from the PM&DC syllabus, with heavy practice in Biology and Chemistry MCQs.
  • Nutrition and public health applicants from non-science groups should revise basic Biology and Chemistry.
  • Register early and keep the HBL challan receipt; late applications are not accepted online.
  • Treat the test as half your merit — it carries 50%, more than your HSSC marks.
