SZABIST Entry Test 2026-27

SZABIST requires every undergraduate applicant to pass its own entrance test and an interview. The official pages describe the process clearly but publish little on the paper itself beyond sample tests. See the SZABIST profile and the SZABIST admissions 2026-27.

Which Test Is Required

• BBA, BS Accounting and Finance, BS Computer Science, BS Software Engineering, BS AI, BS Social Sciences, BS Media Science and other undergraduate programs: SZABIST entrance test plus interview.
• BS Software Engineering: additional group discussion.
• Overseas BBA applicants: SAT scores may replace the entrance test.
• No NTS, HEC USAT or ETEA route is accepted.

Eligibility

• Intermediate, A Level (three subjects) or 12th grade with at least 50% marks (45% for BS Social Sciences)
• O Level: minimum eight subjects including English, Urdu, Maths, Islamiat and Pakistan Studies
• BS CS and BS SE prefer a mathematics background; BS AI applicants without maths take six credit hours of deficiency courses
• Candidates awaiting results may apply

Registration and Fee

Apply through the online SZABIST Admission System linked from https://szabist.edu.pk/admissions/. The application processing fee is listed as Rs. 1,500 ($45) on the FAQ and Rs. 2,000 ($60) on the Hyderabad page; check the official website for the current Karachi amount. Pay via HBL challan and send the paid slip with your documents.

Schedule

SZABIST admits for Spring (tests typically in December) and Fall (tests typically in June to August). For Spring 2026, the Hyderabad campus opened admissions on 13 October 2025, closed forms on 10 December and tested on 15 and 16 December 2025. Spring 2027 Karachi dates were not published in text on the pages we could verify; check the official website.

Merit Formula

SZABIST does not publish a weightage formula; the test, interview and academic record together decide the merit and waiting lists. Check the official website.

Preparation Tips

• Download the program-specific sample test and practise it under time pressure.
• Strengthen English comprehension and grammar; these appear in every SZABIST sample paper.
• Computing applicants should revise Intermediate mathematics, including functions and basic logic.
• Prepare for a structured interview and, for software engineering, a group discussion on a general topic.
• Send your documents promptly; the admit card is released only after the admissions office approves your file.
