Ziauddin University Entry Test 2026-27

Ziauddin University uses two different routes depending on the degree you apply for: the national MDCAT for medicine and dentistry, and its own entry test for everything else. This page explains both, with the caveat that the university publishes limited pattern detail online. Which Test Is Required

• MBBS and BDS: MDCAT conducted under PMDC rules is mandatory for all medical and dental colleges in Pakistan, including Ziauddin Medical College and the College of Dentistry.
• DPT, Pharm-D, nursing, allied health, engineering, computing, business, law and other degrees: Ziauddin University’s own entry test, followed by an interview where applicable.
• A sample test paper is linked from the university’s admissions page so applicants can see the style of questions.

Eligibility

MBBS and BDS applicants need FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent with the marks required under PMDC regulations and a valid MDCAT score. Other programs generally require Intermediate or A Level (or equivalent through IBCC) in a relevant group; the specific minimum percentage for each degree is not stated on the pages we checked, so check the official website or the program page on the portal.

Registration and Fee

Apply through https://admission.zu.edu.pk/; the portal generates a bank voucher (UBL is the listed payment partner). The processing or test fee is not published on the public pages, so check the official website. MDCAT registration is separate and handled by the national testing arrangement announced by PMDC each year.

Schedule

Ziauddin runs rolling, program-specific windows. In October 2026 the portal showed LLB applications closing 27 October 2026, Pharmacy Technician 30 November 2026 and BS Accounting and Finance 28 December 2026; test dates are communicated to applicants after the deadline. MDCAT is usually held in the last quarter of the year. Check the official website for exact test dates.

Merit Formula

No merit weightage is published for the university test. For MBBS and BDS, merit follows the PMDC-mandated formula combining Matric, Intermediate and MDCAT. Check the official website.

Preparation Tips

• Download the sample paper from the Ziauddin admissions page and time yourself on it.
• For health sciences programs, revise FSc Biology, Chemistry and English; these dominate most university tests of this type.
• For engineering and computing, focus on Intermediate Mathematics and Physics.
• MBBS and BDS aspirants should treat MDCAT as the main hurdle and start early with the national syllabus.
• Keep your documents scanned and ready; Ziauddin’s windows close on fixed dates per program.
