Ziauddin University

Ziauddin University is a private, Sindh-chartered university in Karachi that grew out of a postgraduate medical institute founded in 1994, became Ziauddin Medical University in 1995 and received its present charter as Ziauddin University in 2005. It is best known for MBBS, BDS and allied health degrees backed by its own tertiary care hospitals, but today it also runs engineering, computing, business, law, pharmacy, nursing and veterinary faculties. The HEC profile of Ziauddin University confirms it as a private-sector, HEC-recognised university, and the university website itself describes it as an HEC-recognised degree-awarding institute.

Admission Process

Ziauddin admits program by program rather than in one university-wide window, so the portal shows some degrees as open and others as closed at any given time. In October 2026, for example, BS Accounting and Finance was open until 28 December 2026 and LLB until 27 October 2026, while MBBS, BDS and DPT were marked closed. The broad steps are:

Pick your program on the admission portal and check that it is marked open.
Create an account and complete the online form with scanned documents.
Pay the processing fee through the bank voucher generated by the portal (amount not published on the pages we checked; check the official website).
Sit the university entry test or submit the required national test score (MDCAT for MBBS and BDS).
Attend the interview if called and pay the admission fee once offered a seat.

Entry Test and Merit

For MBBS and BDS, admission in Pakistan is governed by PMDC rules, so a valid MDCAT score is required and merit follows the national framework; for other degrees Ziauddin conducts its own entry test, and the university publishes a sample test paper on its admissions page.
