Program Overview
The programme covers material and energy balances, chemical engineering thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, separation processes, reaction engineering, process control and instrumentation, plant design and economics, process safety and industrial chemistry. Unit-operations laboratories and industrial visits to fertiliser, cement and petrochemical plants support the theory.
Chemical Engineering suits students with strong chemistry and mathematics who want to design and operate processes at industrial scale. It is more quantitative than a BS in Chemistry and leads to PEC registration.
