Explore BS Environmental Sciences – Mehran University of Engineering and Technology at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, including duration, eligibility and connected admission resources.
BS Environmental Sciences at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology is a four-year science degree offered at the Jamshoro campus in Sindh. It appears on the official MUET BS Programs page (muet.edu.pk) as one of seven four-year BS programmes, and the university also houses an Institute of Environmental Engineering and Management and a Centre for Advanced Studies in Water.
Program Overview
The programme studies the natural environment and human impact on it: environmental chemistry and biology, ecology, air and water pollution, waste management, environmental impact assessment, climate change, GIS and remote sensing, and environmental law and policy. Because MUET is an engineering university, students sit alongside environmental engineers and water researchers, which gives the degree a practical, measurement-based character. It suits science students concerned about Sindh’s water scarcity, industrial pollution in Kotri and Karachi, and the climate pressures on the Indus delta.

Eligibility Criteria
MUET’s BS programmes generally require intermediate with science subjects; for the BBA the university states a 60% minimum without grace marks, and a similar threshold is typical for its BS disciplines, but the exact stream and percentage for Environmental Sciences should be confirmed in the 2026-27 prospectus on the admissions portal. All regular-scheme applicants must take the MUET pre-admission test, which for the 2026-27 batch was held in separate Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical and General Science shifts (Source: admissions.muet.edu.pk).
Admission Process
Admission runs with MUET’s single undergraduate cycle. The Batch-26 advertisement went out on 14 April 2026; tests were conducted district-wise in May and June 2026, with each district’s merit list posted on the test day and interviews the next day. Applicants register at ugadmissions.muet.edu.pk, choose BS disciplines in order of preference, pay the fee, sit the test and attend the interview call. The Mehran University Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27 record on our site tracks each stage and the MUET pre-admission test page explains the test pattern.
Fee Structure
MUET publishes separate fee tables for the Regular, Self-Finance and University Support Program schemes on its admissions portal. No Environmental Sciences fee was located on the pages reviewed for this article, so check the official fee structure linked from admissions.muet.edu.pk before applying. Need-based support is available through the university’s Student Financial Aid Office.
Career Scope in Pakistan
Environmental science graduates work with the Sindh Environmental Protection Agency, environmental consultancies that prepare impact assessments for industry and infrastructure, NGOs such as WWF-Pakistan and IUCN, corporate HSE departments in oil and gas, cement, textile and power companies, and water and sanitation projects. Climate finance and ESG reporting are creating new demand. Postgraduate study at MUET’s own environmental institute or abroad leads to research and senior roles.
