BS Computer Science at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad profile (UAF) is a four-year undergraduate degree offered by the Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Sciences at the main campus on Jail Road, Faisalabad. The prospectus also lists the programme at the UAF constituent colleges in Toba Tek Singh (morning and evening) and Burewala, and at UAF Community College (PARS Campus), which added it in 2023.

Program Overview

Although UAF is best known for agriculture, its Faculty of Sciences runs a full computing group – Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Bioinformatics and Statistics. The BS CS curriculum follows the national scheme: programming, data structures, discrete structures, computer organisation, operating systems, database systems, software engineering, networks, theory of automata and a final year project, with electives that at UAF often lean towards agri-informatics, GIS and data applications. It suits students from Faisalabad and the surrounding districts who want a public-sector computing degree with the option of studying near home at a sub-campus.

Career Scope in Pakistan

Faisalabad is a textile and industrial city with a growing software and IT-services sector, and UAF computer science graduates work in local software houses, ERP and automation firms serving the textile industry, banks and telecom branches, and in the university’s own agri-tech and research projects. Lahore is close enough that many graduates move there for software development roles, while others freelance or pursue MS study. Agricultural data and precision farming are a niche where the UAF name carries extra weight.
