UAF Undergraduate Admission Guide — Entry Test & Merit

UAF undergraduate admission: eligibility, the 30:30:40 merit ratio with an example, multiple entry-test sittings, sub-campuses and 2026-27 dates.

Student with admission form between a wheat field and a university gate

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) is Pakistan’s oldest agricultural university, but today it admits undergraduates into computer science, business, food science, veterinary medicine, engineering and social sciences as well as agriculture. Admission is competitive and runs through UAF’s own entry test rather than NTS. This guide explains eligibility, the entry test structure and how multiple sittings work, the merit formula used in the prospectus, campus choices including Burewala and other sub-campuses, and the timeline of the 2026-27 cycle as published at web.uaf.edu.pk. Start with our University of Agriculture Faisalabad profile for a campus and program overview.

Eligibility and Who Should Apply

UAF accepts FSc Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS, General Science, FA and I.Com students depending on the degree. Agriculture, food science and veterinary programs typically require a science background, while business and social science programs are open to arts and commerce groups. Minimum percentages and subject conditions are set out in the yearly advertisement linked from the admissions overview page; we did not find them stated on the overview page itself, so check the official advertisement for your program before paying any fee. Our programs directory lists the degree options.

The Merit Formula

ComponentWeight
Matric (SSC)30
Intermediate Part-I (HSSC Part-I)30
UAF entry test40

This 30:30:40 ratio is the one stated in the UAF prospectus and admission overview material; the overview page at https://web.uaf.edu.pk/contents/admissions/un/adm_overview.html links to the prospectus and advertisement rather than printing the ratio directly, so confirm it in the current prospectus PDF. Using Part-I means students whose final Intermediate result is awaited can still be ranked fairly. Additional marks for Hafiz-e-Quran and co-curricular categories are assessed through separate interviews and tests, which the overview page lists as scheduled events.

Example: Matric 88% gives 26.4 points, Part-I 80% gives 24.0 points, entry test 65% gives 26.0 points, for an aggregate of 76.4 out of 100. Note how the entry test, worth 40, is the largest single lever, just as it is in the NUST Merit Calculation Guide — NET, Matric & Intermediate.

The Entry Test: Multiple Sittings

For the 2026-27 session UAF held a first entry test on 5 July 2026 and a second on 2 August 2026, with results posted on the admissions overview page (Source: https://web.uaf.edu.pk/contents/admissions/un/adm_overview.html). A third test was then announced, with online registration from 12 August, a closing date of 24 August and the test on 30 August 2026 (Source: https://web.uaf.edu.pk/News/NewsDetail/2166). Multiple sittings give students who miss or underperform in one test another chance. The test fee is paid through the online voucher system; the amount is not listed on the pages we checked, so check the official website. Our UAF entry test page covers the paper pattern.

Step-by-Step Admission Process

  1. Read the undergraduate admission advertisement for the session and note your program’s eligibility.
  2. Register online for the entry test during the announced window and generate the fee voucher.
  3. Pay the voucher at the bank or through the online channel shown, then download your roll number slip.
  4. Sit the entry test at the main campus or the centre allotted to you, carrying your slip and CNIC/B-Form.
  5. Check your result on the overview page; if you wish to improve, register for the next sitting.
  6. Submit the admission application with program and campus preferences when the form opens.
  7. Attend any Hafiz-e-Quran or co-curricular interview if you claimed those marks.
  8. Check merit lists, download the merit fee voucher and pay dues before the deadline printed on it.

Campus Choices: Main Campus and Sub-Campuses

UAF’s main campus is in Faisalabad, with sub-campuses that include Burewala (Vehari district), Toba Tek Singh, Depalpur (Okara) and the PARS campus in Faisalabad. Merit for sub-campuses is often lower than for the main campus for the same degree, which makes them a sensible second preference for students with a borderline aggregate. Programs offered differ by campus, so confirm that your intended degree, for example BS Computer Science, is actually offered at the campus you list. Merit lists are published separately per campus and program on the overview page.

Common Mistakes

  • Registering for the test but never submitting the admission application form.
  • Listing only the main campus and missing a sub-campus seat that would have been offered.
  • Missing the merit fee voucher deadline; seats pass to the next candidate.
  • Ignoring the three-year diploma and B.Ed admissions published on the same page and confusing their dates with BS dates.
  • Relying on unofficial result sites instead of the UAF page.

FAQs

Does UAF use NTS or its own test?

UAF conducts its own entry test, held in several sittings, and publishes results on the admissions overview page.

What is the UAF merit ratio?

Matric 30, Intermediate Part-I 30, entry test 40, per the UAF prospectus. Confirm in the current prospectus linked from the official overview page.

Can I retake the UAF entry test?

In 2026-27 UAF held three sittings. Candidates could register for a later sitting; check the official website for how multiple scores are treated.

Is Burewala campus merit lower than the main campus?
