Quaid-i-Azam University

Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) is a federal public-sector university in Islamabad, established in 1967. Historically a postgraduate and research institution, it now offers a wide range of four-year BS programs in natural sciences, biological sciences and social sciences and is consistently among the top-ranked universities in Pakistan.

Admission Process

Apply through the QAU Online Application System (ugadmissions.qau.edu.pk), pay the application processing fee of PKR 2,860 through Kuickpay or 1-Bill, and upload the receipt with scanned documents. Minimum eligibility is HSSC Part-I with at least 50% marks (60% pre-medical for Pharm-D; LLB requires the HEC LAT). Admissions open once a year, usually in June, for the Fall semester in both Morning and Self-Support programs. Selected candidates pay dues at HBL or Askari Bank (or online) and upload the voucher on the portal.

Entry Test and Merit

QAU prepares merit for most BS programs from academic marks; the current formula is available through the official Merit Calculator and Aptitude Tests pages, so check the official website for your program. For LLB the stated merit is HSSC Part-I 50%, HEC LAT 30% and SSC 20%.

Approximate Fee Range

For Fall 2026 QAU lists approximately PKR 36,880 per semester (Morning) and PKR 91,670 per semester (Self-Support) for most BS programs, and approximately PKR 68,490 (Morning) and PKR 142,140 (Self-Support) for BBA, Computer Science, IT, Pharmacy, Law, English and SP&IR.
