PIEAS Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27

PIEAS admits undergraduates once a year. As of October 2026 the official schedule page states that BS admissions for the 2026–2030 batch are closed; classes began in September 2026. There is no spring intake, so the next opportunity is the Fall 2027 cycle, which normally opens in February. This record captures the verified 2026 timeline so that you can plan the next round. Programs Open for Admission

• BS Mechanical Engineering
• BS Chemical Engineering

Candidates apply once and then rank their program preferences after merit numbers are announced; seats are allotted preference-wise across the successive merit lists. Because PIEAS releases up to seven lists, applicants with a mid-range merit number should keep checking the portal through August — withdrawals higher up the list regularly open seats in later rounds. All six programs are full-time and residential, and the institute does not admit on self-finance, sports or any other quota, so the merit number is the only thing that matters once eligibility is met.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 60% in SSC/O-Level and 60% in HSSC/A-Level or equivalent.
• Engineering: pre-engineering or ICS subject combination (pre-medical with additional Mathematics accepted); DAE under PEC rules.
• Physics and CIS: pre-engineering, pre-medical or ICS; Science General with Mathematics accepted for CIS.
• Equivalence certificate from IBCC for O/A-Level and foreign qualifications.
• Result-awaiting students may apply provisionally.

How to Apply

1. Create an account on admissions.pieas.edu.pk when the portal opens.
2. Fill in the online form, upload documents and pay the Rs. 3,500 application fee.
3. Choose the first test, the second test or both.
4. Download the admit slip and appear at your chosen centre.
5. After results, log in to update degree preferences.
6. Watch the merit lists and pay admission dues by the stated deadline if selected.
7. Report to campus on the joining date with original documents.

Entry Test and Merit

Admission depends on the PIEAS written test (60% of merit per the leaflet) combined with academic marks. No external test is accepted for domestic candidates and there are no quota seats. Pattern, eligibility and preparation advice are in the PIEAS entry test guide.

Fee and Scholarships

For Fall 2026 onward: admission charges Rs. 35,000 (one-time), security Rs. 25,000 (refundable), tuition Rs. 4,000 per credit hour, IT services Rs. 15,000–16,000 per semester, giving an example semester total of Rs. 103,000 without hostel.
