DUET Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) Karachi admits students to its BE, BS and B.Arch programmes through its own entry test. This guide explains which test applies, what is officially published about its pattern, who is eligible, how registration works and how to prepare. For the full university overview see our DUET profile; for the current cycle dates see the DUET Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27 record.

Which Test Is Required

DUET conducts a university entry test for all undergraduate programmes: BE (engineering), BS (computing, science, technology and management) and B.Arch. The official admissions page says a test or interview is held ‘where required’ and that the merit list is published after it (Source). DUET does not use ECAT, ETEA or NTS NAT scores for undergraduate entry, and MDCAT is not relevant. Test centres for 2026 were reported in Karachi and Sukkur.

Test Pattern

The official pages we reviewed do not publish the section split, number of MCQs, marks, duration or negative-marking policy. The table shows what applicants should expect to confirm from the prospectus and admit card.

Eligibility

  • Intermediate (HSC-II) or equivalent in the relevant group; for engineering, pre-engineering or equivalent subjects.
  • Minimum percentage reported for the 2026 advertisement: 60% in HSC-II for engineering programmes and 50% for non-engineering programmes — confirm on the official portal.
  • Candidates who appeared in HSC-I in 2025 could apply while awaiting HSC-II results, as reported.
  • Documents: matric and intermediate marksheets and certificates, CNIC or B-Form, domicile certificate and a recent photograph.

Registration and Fee

Registration is online through admission.duet.edu.pk. Applicants fill the form, upload scanned documents, pay the application processing fee and keep the deposit slip (Source). The processing fee amount is not published on the pages we checked, so check the official website before paying.

Schedule

For the Fall 2026 intake the last date to apply and submit fees was reported as 29 June 2026, with the entry test on 12 July 2026. DUET typically opens undergraduate admissions in May-June and tests in July, with merit lists in July-August. These dates come from a news report of the advertisement; the official portal is authoritative, so check it for the next cycle.

Merit Formula

DUET has not published the weightage of entry-test marks against HSC and matric marks on the pages we reviewed. The merit list is prepared after the test; confirm the formula in the current prospectus or the admissions office (admissions@duet.edu.pk).

Preparation Tips

  • Revise the FSc pre-engineering syllabus, especially Mathematics (calculus, vectors, trigonometry) and Physics numericals, since engineering tests lean on them.
  • Practise MCQs under timed conditions; attempt at least three full-length mock papers before test day.
  • Read the prospectus model paper once it is released on the portal to learn the section order and marking.
  • Keep the admit card, original CNIC/B-Form and a printed copy of your form ready a day before the test.
  • If you are applying to B.Arch, also brush up basic drawing and spatial reasoning in case of a design component.
