The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore is the leading public engineering university of Punjab. It admits undergraduate students through its own entrance test, the ECAT, which is also accepted by several other engineering institutions in the province, and offers programs in engineering, computing, architecture, sciences and business.

Admission Process

Applications are accepted only online at admission.uet.edu.pk; for Fall 2026 the window ran from 8 June to 15 July 2026. Applicants generate and pay a Rs. 3,000 challan (HBL or UBL) which also serves as the ECAT registration token; one fee covers multiple program choices. Open-merit seats are mainly for Punjab and Islamabad domicile holders. The minimum requirement is 60% in Intermediate for Engineering, Architecture and Computer Engineering and 50% for Science, Computing and Business programs. Intake is in Fall.

Entry Test and Merit

UET conducts the ECAT (ecat.uet.edu.pk), which is compulsory for Engineering, Computing, Architecture and related programs. The test carries 400 marks over 100 minutes, with +4 marks per correct answer and no negative marking. Business and Science (non-ECAT) programs do not require it. Merit combines Intermediate Part-I (or equivalent) marks with the ECAT score; the exact weightage is published on the admission portal, so check the official website.

Approximate Fee Range

The Fall 2026 fee schedule on the admission portal shows a first-semester admission fee of approximately Rs. 54,050 (subsidized) or Rs. 74,040 (partially subsidized) plus first-semester tuition of approximately Rs. 56,290 or Rs. 85,250 respectively; the indicative eight-semester total is approximately Rs. 713,920 (subsidized) or Rs. 1,085,430 (partially subsidized). Confirm on the portal before applying.
