GCWUS Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

Thinking about a BS at Government College Women University Sialkot? This page explains whether an entry test is needed for the 2026-27 intake, who is eligible, how to register and how to prepare. All details are taken from GCWUS official pages; unverified items are flagged.

Which Test Is Required

  • BS, BBA, BBAIT, ADP, post-ADP (5th semester) and B.Ed. — open merit on Intermediate (or ADP) marks; no general written entry test is required.
  • BFA / BS Fine Arts (Painting, Textile Design) — a departmental drawing test is held before merit lists.
  • Sports and co-curricular quota — practical trials on the dates announced in the admission notice.
  • MS / PhD — a university admission test and interview (not relevant for undergraduates).

Test Pattern

Because BS admission is on open merit, there is no written test pattern. The Fine Arts drawing test is practical and assessed by the department; its marking scheme is not published online.

  • Post-ADP entry: a two-year ADP in a relevant field.
  • Domicile, age and quota conditions as per the official notice.

Registration and Fee

Apply online at admission.gcwus.com and pay the processing fee printed on the challan. The fee amount is not listed on the public website — check the official website.

Schedule

For Fall 2026 the university’s advertised closing date for BS/BBA/BFA/B.Ed. was 31 July 2026, with drawing tests and trials in early August and merit lists on 6, 13 and 19 August 2026 (as circulated in the admission advertisement — verify on the official website). A Spring 2027 BS intake has not been announced; check the official website.

Merit Formula

Not published on the official website. Merit at GCWUS is prepared from Intermediate marks under the university’s admission regulations; confirm any weightage or Hafiz-e-Quran credit in the prospectus.

Preparation Tips

  • There is no test to cram for — your board percentage is the merit, so finish strong in Part II.
  • Fine Arts applicants should practise still-life and composition drawing; bring your own materials on test day.
  • Compare last year’s closing merits (merit lists are archived on gcwus.edu.pk) before setting preferences.
  • Apply early; the portal and bank queues get busy in the last week of July.
  • Keep photocopies and attested sets ready for document verification after selection.
