The Women University Multan

Women University Multan (WUM) profile: history, two campuses, BS/ADP programs, admission process, merit rules, fees and scholarships.

The Women University Multan (WUM) is a public sector university for women in Multan, Punjab — the first university in the city dedicated to women. It was created under a 2010 Act of the Punjab Assembly and began functioning as a full university in 2012, growing out of the Kutchery campus of Government Degree College for Women, Multan (Source: wum.edu.pk). WUM teaches undergraduate programmes in around 60 streams of study across science, life sciences, arts and social sciences, management sciences, and religion and languages, and is known in south Punjab for its affordable BS and ADP options and its two-campus set-up in the city.

Admission Process

WUM’s main intake is Fall; applications normally open in June–July with a mid-July deadline, followed by merit lists in August. After the regular rounds, the university often invites late applicants to visit the campus for remaining ADP/BS seats, as it did for Fall 2026.

  1. Apply online at admissions.wum.edu.pk.
  2. Pay the processing fee challan and upload the paid copy in the portal (an official requirement).
  3. Select programmes and submit by the advertised due date — late submissions are not accepted.
  4. Check test/merit lists on the website; selected students pay the admission fee.
  5. Bring original certificates for verification at the time of admission.

Entry Test and Merit

WUM states that merit combines weighted marks from the previous degree with entry test marks where a test applies, and that 20 marks are added for Hafiz-e-Quran (Source: WUM undergraduate admissions page). For BS/ADP programmes the website describes entry tests only for Master/MPhil level, so undergraduate admission is effectively on open merit; the exact weightage is not published — check the official website. See our WUM entry test page.

Fee Structure

A Fee Structure page is linked from the official website, but amounts are not shown in text form on the pages we could verify — check the official website for the current per-semester fee.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

  • Ehsaas (HEC) Undergraduate Scholarship — listed on the WUM admissions page.
  • Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) schemes — the university publishes an annual list of scholarship recipients (2025-26 list posted June 2026).
  • Punjab Honhaar scholarship — for eligible Punjab-domiciled students; see our scholarships archive.

Campuses

  • Katchery Campus — the original campus in central Multan (administration and most departments).
  • Mattital Campus — newer campus on Mattital Road housing Botany, Zoology, Environmental Sciences and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, with more departments planned to move.

Why Students Choose WUM

WUM gives women in Multan and south Punjab a public-sector BS at low cost without leaving the city. The ADP-to-BS ladder (with 5th-semester entry) suits students who want flexibility, and the growing Mattital campus is adding lab capacity for life sciences.
