IIUI Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

If you are applying to the International Islamic University, Islamabad, the first thing to know is that most undergraduate programs no longer require a university-conducted test. IIUI’s 2025 Admission Policy shifts to open merit and HEC test scores, with its own tests retained only where accreditation bodies demand one. This guide explains the rules for 2026-27 and what to prepare. The IIUI university profile gives the full background.

Which Test Is Required

  • Open merit (no test): the default for undergraduate programs, per the official policy.
  • HEC test (USAT/HAT via HEC-ETC): accepted where a test is required but IIUI is not obliged to conduct it itself.
  • University-conducted test: only where an accreditation body requires it — in practice engineering programs under PEC guidelines and a few others. The Spring 2026 schedule shows a test for BS Bioinformatics (female campus) alongside postgraduate tests.
  • Law programs follow HEC’s LAT requirement; medical-related programs follow their regulator.

Eligibility

  • Admission is strictly on merit; the policy sets no university-wide minimum percentage, so each program’s own threshold applies — check the program page.
  • Percentages are not rounded up (49.99% does not become 50%).
  • Result-awaiting candidates may be admitted provisionally and must submit results within 15 days of the semester starting.
  • Seats are fixed per program with separate counts for male and female applicants.
  • Foreign and O/A-Level qualifications need IBCC equivalence.

Registration and Fee

Apply online at https://admission.iiu.edu.pk/. The processing fee is Rs. 1,500 for Pakistani applicants (up to five programs in one faculty; another faculty needs a further fee) and USD 100 for overseas applicants, non-refundable. Schedule

Per the policy, Fall applications run from the first week of June to 15 July and Spring applications from the first week of November to 15 December. Where IIUI conducts a test it is held soon after the deadline — for Spring 2026 the tests were on 14–15 January 2026. Spring 2027 test dates were not yet published in October 2026 — check the official website.

Merit Formula

  • Programs without a test: SSC 40% + HSSC 60%.
  • Result-awaited applicants: 60% of actual HSSC Part-I marks.
  • Programs with a test (no accreditation guideline): SSC 15% + HSSC 25% + Test 60%.
  • Programs under accreditation bodies: as per that body’s formula.

Preparation Tips

  • Check whether your program is open merit — if so, your HSSC marks are everything, so focus on documentation and applying to five programs in one faculty.
  • If an HEC USAT score is accepted, sit USAT early; results are valid for the cycle and avoid a separate test.
  • Engineering applicants should revise FSc Physics and Mathematics for the PEC-driven test.
  • Choose the correct campus (male/female) and faculty at registration — fee covers one faculty only.
  • Apply in the first week the portal opens; IIUI processes a very large applicant pool.
