Islamia College Entry Test 2026-27

Islamia College Peshawar is one of the few large public universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where undergraduate admission does not depend on a separate entrance exam. This page explains what that means in practice for the 2026-27 cycle: which programs are open merit, where a test is still required, how merit is built, and how to prepare your documents so your application is not rejected on a technicality. Which Test Is Required

• BS (all 40-plus programs) and BBA: no entry test. Merit is based on FA/FSc Part I marks.
• LLB and LLB Sharia and Law: the HEC Law Admission Test (LAT) is mandatory; the result must be in hand on the day of admission.
• Hafiz-e-Quran seats: a committee test conducted by the college (29 June 2026 in the main round) earns 20 bonus marks.
• Sports seats: practical trials in the relevant sport on the college grounds.
• No ETEA, NTS NAT or HEC USAT score is asked for at the undergraduate level.

Test Pattern

Eligibility

• Minimum 45 percent marks in FA/FSc Part I for all BS programs; 50 percent for Computer Science, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
• Program-specific background: Pre-Medical for Biology, Botany, Zoology and allied programs; FSc or DAE for the Electronics group; Pre-Engineering, General Science or ICS for Computer Science and Software Engineering.
• Maximum age 30 years, relaxable by up to five years by the competent authority.
• Pre-Medical students joining Physics, Electronics, Computer Science or Software Engineering must take Mathematics in semesters one and two.
• A program only runs if at least 20 students enrol.

Registration and Fee

Registration is online at admissions.icp.edu.pk. The application processing fee is Rs. 2,000, or Rs. 2,200 for sports-seat candidates, deposited at any UBL branch using the voucher generated by the portal. Both 2026 rounds are now closed. The next intake is expected in June 2027 — check the official website for the 2027 dates.

Merit Formula

The official notice states that merit is prepared on first-year (FA/FSc Part I) marks plus 20 Hafiz-e-Quran bonus marks where applicable. No percentage weightage for matric or any test is published for BS and BBA. For LLB the LAT score is a precondition, but the notice does not give the weightage — check the official website.

Preparation Tips

• Your FSc Part I percentage is the merit, so if you are still in first year, treat every board paper as part of your university application.
• Download the eligibility table and confirm your subject combination before paying the Rs. 2,000 fee — a Pre-Medical student cannot apply to most Electronics programs without the listed background.
• LLB applicants should register for the earliest HEC LAT sitting of the year so the result is available before July.
• Scan your DMC, CNIC or Form B and domicile at good resolution; the upload step is where most applications are rejected.
• Note your interview date from the final merit list and arrive with originals plus a photocopy set — missing the slot cancels the seat.
