About This Entry Test
Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) Karachi admits MBBS and BDS students on MDCAT merit through the Sindh central admission system, and fills its DPT, Pharm-D, nursing, medical technology, occupational therapy and BBA seats through its own 2026-27 admission notices. Which Test Is Required
- MBBS (Sindh Medical College) and BDS (Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences): MDCAT (PM&DC); central Sindh public sector admission via the LUMHS portal.
- Pharm-D, DPT, BSN, BS Medical Technology, BS Occupational Therapy: JSMU admission notice — entry test or merit basis as specified; check the official website.
- BBA (Institute of Health & Business Management): JSMU admission notice (no MDCAT).
- Overseas MBBS/BDS seats: JSMU overseas-category notice.
Test Pattern
MDCAT 2026 was held on 20 September 2026 (originally 16 August 2026 — Source: PM&DC). The structure is published by PM&DC on https://mdcat.pmdc.pk. The JSMU test pattern for non-MDCAT programmes is in each notice.

Eligibility
- MBBS/BDS: HSSC Pre-Medical and MDCAT above the Sindh policy minimums (2024-25 policy: HSSC 60%, MDCAT 55% MBBS / 50% BDS); Sindh domicile and PRC from a district tagged to JSMU.
- DPT and Pharm-D: HSSC Pre-Medical — minimum per JSMU notice.
- BSN, BS Medical Technology, BS Occupational Therapy: HSSC Pre-Medical — per notice.
- BBA: intermediate in any group — per notice.
Registration and Fee
MDCAT: register on the PM&DC portal; fee per PM&DC notice — check the official website. MBBS/BDS application: LUMHS central portal (https://admission.lumhs.edu.pk/), processing fee per the Sindh notice. JSMU programmes: application form and fee per the notice on jsmu.edu.pk.

Preparation Tips
- Follow the PM&DC MDCAT syllabus exactly; Karachi board students should check topics covered differently in federal texts.
- Give Biology and Chemistry the most time — MDCAT is half the Sindh aggregate.
- Take timed full papers weekly from August; track your score trend.
- For DPT and Pharm-D tests, revise FSc Pre-Medical core concepts and English usage.
- Secure your Sindh domicile and PRC (Form-C) before the central portal opens.
