LUMHS Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro uses two tests. MDCAT, set by PM&DC and conducted in Sindh by its designated provincial body, is required for MBBS and BDS, with LUMHS then running the central Sindh admission. For its BS degree programmes — DPT, Pharm-D, nursing, MLT, radiology, food technology, biomedical engineering and others — LUMHS conducts its own entry test. Which Test Is Required

MBBS and BDS (public and private colleges of Sindh): MDCAT (PM&DC); application through the LUMHS central admission portal.
DPT, Pharm-D, BSN, BS MLT, BS Radiology, BS Food Technology, BS Molecular Biology and Genetics, Physician Associate, BS Biomedical Engineering, BS Health Informatics: LUMHS entry test with online application on admission.lumhs.edu.pk.
Post RN BSN: LUMHS nursing notice.

Test Pattern

MDCAT 2026 was held nationally on 20 September 2026 (rescheduled from 16 August 2026 — Source: PM&DC). PM&DC publishes the subject-wise MCQ count, duration and marking rules on https://mdcat.pmdc.pk. The LUMHS BS entry test pattern is in its notice.

Eligibility

MBBS: HSSC Pre-Medical at least 60% and MDCAT at least 55% (2024-25 policy); Sindh domicile and PRC Form-C for public seats.
BDS: HSSC Pre-Medical at least 60% and MDCAT at least 50% (2024-25 policy).
DPT: HSSC Pre-Medical at least 60% or equivalent A Level.
BS Nursing and BS MLT: at least 50% in HSSC (per the 2024-25 BS notice).

Registration and Fee

MDCAT: PM&DC portal, fee per PM&DC notice (check the official website). LUMHS MBBS/BDS application: Rs 2,500 non-refundable processing fee plus Rs 400 TCS charge in 2024-25. Schedule

MDCAT 2026: 20 September 2026 (verified). LUMHS MBBS/BDS central notice: the 2024-25 cycle was advertised on 1–2 December 2024, so a late-2026 window is typical — check the official website. LUMHS BS programmes: the 2024-25 window was 24 December 2024 to 10 January 2025 — check the official website for the 2026-27 dates.

Preparation Tips

Study the PM&DC MDCAT syllabus; Sindh board students should fill gaps where federal/Punjab texts differ.
Give Biology the largest daily slot, then Chemistry; MDCAT carries half the LUMHS aggregate.
Practise full timed papers weekly in the final two months.
For the LUMHS BS test, revise FSc Pre-Medical fundamentals and English comprehension.
Get your Sindh domicile and PRC (Form-C) issued early — they decide which district quota you compete in.
