Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) is a public sector university in Karachi, Sindh, built around Sindh Medical College (founded 1973) and chartered as a university by the Government of Sindh in 2012. It describes itself as “the largest medical university of Sindh” and is attached to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), one of the country’s busiest hospitals. MBBS and BDS: seats at Sindh Medical College and the Sindh Institute of Oral Health Sciences are filled through the Sindh public sector central admission conducted by LUMHS Jamshoro, with candidates from districts tagged to JSMU applying on the LUMHS portal. Pharm-D, DPT, BSN, BS Medical Technology, BS Occupational Therapy and BBA: JSMU advertises its own admissions under “Admissions 2026-2027” on its website, with an entry test or merit basis per the notice; the BSN 2026 batch commenced on 3 August 2026.

Entry Test and Merit

MDCAT (PM&DC) is required for MBBS and BDS; merit is calculated under the Sindh central policy (the 2024-25 LUMHS policy weighted Matric 10%, HSSC 40%, MDCAT 50%). JSMU operates from its Rafiqui Shaheed Road campus adjacent to JPMC in Karachi, with its institutes on and around the same site and clinical training at JPMC, the National Institute of Child Health and the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. No sub-campus outside Karachi is listed.
