SBBWU Entry Test 2026-27
About This Entry Test
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar admits most of its BS students on open merit rather than through a central entry test. This guide explains which programmes carry an aptitude test or interview, what a typical paper looks like, who is eligible to apply, and how to prepare for the Fall 2026-27 cycle. Read it together with the SBBWU university profile and the admissions 2026-27 record.
Which Test Is Required
- General BS programmes (sciences, computing, social sciences, languages, business): open merit on intermediate marks; no ETEA or NTS test is advertised for these seats
- BS Art & Design: departmental aptitude/drawing test and portfolio review
- LLB: admission is subject to the HEC Law Admission Test (LAT) rule that applies to all law colleges in Pakistan — etc.hec.gov.pk
- MS/MPhil/PhD: GAT-General/Subject or a university test as per the postgraduate advertisement
Because the official site could not be verified at the time of writing, treat the above as the usual practice and check the official website for the department you want.

Where a department does hold a test, it is usually a short written paper on intermediate-level subject knowledge, English and basic reasoning, held on campus after the application deadline.
Eligibility
- Female candidates only
- Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICS/I.Com) or equivalent with at least the minimum percentage set in the advertisement — commonly 45% for BS programmes, but confirm per department
- Science programmes need pre-medical or pre-engineering subjects as listed in the prospectus
- Equivalence certificate from IBCC for O/A-Level or foreign qualifications
Registration and Fee
Applications are submitted on the prescribed form available from the admission office or the official website during the advertised window. The processing or test fee is paid through the challan printed with the form; the amount is not available on a page we could verify — check the official website.
Schedule
SBBWU advertises undergraduate admissions once a year. For Fall 2026 the last date to apply was 30 September 2026, with departmental tests and interviews held in October followed by merit lists and classes commencing in the same month. No Spring 2027 undergraduate intake has been announced. Check the official website for exact dates.
Merit Formula
An official merit formula is not published on a page we could verify. In practice, merit for open-merit programmes is based on intermediate marks (and matric marks where a tie-breaker is needed), while departments that test add the test or interview score — check the official website.
Preparation Tips
- Revise your intermediate subjects, especially those linked to your chosen BS programme
- Practise English comprehension and grammar questions from NTS/HAT sample papers
- For Art & Design, build a small portfolio of sketches and prepare for a timed drawing task
- Keep attested copies of all documents ready so you can submit on day one of the window
- Apply to two or three departments in order of preference to improve your chances
