Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar (SBBWU) is a public-sector women-only university in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It began in 2005 as Frontier Women University, the first dedicated women’s university in the province, and was renamed in 2009 in honour of the late prime minister. It is known for giving women from Peshawar and the surrounding districts a safe, affordable route into science, computing, social sciences, education and law degrees. SBBWU appears on the Higher Education Commission’s list of recognised public universities, so its degrees are accepted across Pakistan.

SBBWU runs four-year BS degrees across science, computing, social science, language, business and education departments. Admission Process

The university follows a single main intake each year in the Fall (August–September) semester, with the official advertisement normally published in late August or early September and the last date around the end of September. The Fall 2026 undergraduate advertisement listed 30 September 2026 as the closing date. A separate advertisement for postgraduate (MS/MPhil/PhD) programmes is issued around the same time. Candidates submit the prescribed form with attested copies of their matric and intermediate certificates, domicile, CNIC or B-Form and photographs, and pay the processing fee printed on the form. Entry Test and Merit

Admission to most BS programmes at SBBWU is on open merit built from intermediate marks, with departmental aptitude tests or interviews used for a few disciplines such as Art & Design and Law. The university does not advertise a university-wide NTS or ETEA requirement for general BS seats; because the official site was not reachable for verification, confirm the test requirement for your department before applying. Fee Structure

SBBWU is one of the lower-cost public universities in Peshawar, but official per-semester figures are not published on a page we could verify for the 2026-27 session. Fee is paid semester-wise through a bank challan after a candidate’s name appears on the merit list — check the official website or the admission office for the current schedule of dues.

As a public university, SBBWU students are eligible for HEC-run need-based scholarships and the Ehsaas/PM Undergraduate scholarship scheme that is administered through university financial-aid offices. The main campus is on Charsadda Road, Peshawar. The university has also been advertising a sub-campus in Swabi for women students of that district; confirm which programmes run at the sub-campus on the official website.
