SSUET Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology runs its own computer-based entry test on campus but also accepts scores from most public-sector university tests, which makes it one of the more flexible private engineering admissions in Karachi. Here is what the official undergraduate admissions page confirms. See the SSUET profile and SSUET admissions 2026-27.

Which Test Is Required

  • All undergraduate programs (engineering, computing, technology, architecture, business): SSUET on-campus entry test, plus a technical interview where required.
  • Exemption: a 2026 score from USAT, NED University, MUET, NTS, ETEA, MDCAT, DUET or another public-sector university test can be uploaded under “Other Test”. You may still sit the SSUET test and the highest score is used.

Schedule

For Fall 2026 Round 3 (limited programs and seats) SSUET announced walk-in tests on 15, 22 and 27 October 2026, 9:00 to 10:30 am, on campus. Spring 2027 dates were not published as of mid-October 2026; check the official website.

Merit Formula

The test score contributes to merit, but SSUET does not publish a weightage formula. Check the official website.

Because SSUET accepts outside scores, many applicants sit the NED or USAT test first and use SSUET as a second option; if you do, upload the scorecard promptly because the portal considers the higher of the two results. Walk-in test sessions in Round 3 are first come, first served, so arrive well before 9:00 am with all items on the checklist.

Preparation Tips

  • Revise Intermediate Mathematics, Physics and English; these underpin engineering entry tests across Pakistan.
  • If you already hold a USAT, NED or NTS score, upload it but still attempt the SSUET test to take the higher result.
  • Practise on a computer with timed MCQ sets since the test is computer-based.
  • Bring a calculator and paid voucher; candidates without them are turned away.
  • Pre-medical applicants should start the Maths deficiency material early.
