Mirpur University of Science and Technology

Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) is a public university in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir. It grew out of the University College of Engineering and Technology Mirpur and was chartered as a full university in 2008, and it is best known for its engineering faculty, the Mirpur Institute of Technology and a growing health-sciences wing. MUST is recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and serves the Mirpur, Bhimber and Kotli divisions, with a satellite campus at Pallandri.

Admission Process

MUST advertises undergraduate admissions for Fall each year through admission.must.edu.pk (with a mirror at admission2.must.edu.pk). For Fall 2026 the online undergraduate application closed on 7 September 2026, and the university stated that admission would be offered on the basis of the applicant’s first-year (Part-I) result where final results were not yet available. A separate window for MS/MPhil/PhD and BS 5th-semester (lateral) entry closes on 6 November 2026. New students must submit a medical certificate before the first week of classes. The processing fee is not shown on a page we could verify — check the official website.

Entry Test and Merit

MUST runs its own University Graduate Admission Test, UGAT-1, for admissions, and engineering applicants are also directed to the State Engineering & Engineering Technology Entry Test (SEET 2026). Scholarships and Financial Aid

The official website reports an MoU with the Professional Education Foundation (PEF) for undergraduate scholarships, a tuition waiver for students whose father or guardian dies during their studies, and a scholarship programmes page run by the Student Affairs Centre (sac.must.edu.pk). MUST is the main engineering and technology university of southern AJK, and its proximity to the large British-Kashmiri diaspora community in Mirpur gives it strong overseas links.
