University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (UAJK) is the oldest and largest public university in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, established in 1980 and headquartered in Muzaffarabad. Spread over several campuses in the capital and the Neelum and Jhelum valleys, it offers degrees in science, engineering, health sciences, humanities and social sciences and acts as the parent university for a large network of affiliated colleges. Its Chehla and City campuses in Muzaffarabad house the science, engineering and health faculties, while the King Abdullah Campus at Chattar Klass is the newest purpose-built site. The university also runs semester-system BS programmes in the Neelum and Jhelum valleys so that students from remote tehsils can study without moving to the capital. Admission Process

Admission notices are issued by the Directorate of Admissions and published on the official website and in national newspapers. UAJK takes its main undergraduate intake in Fall, with a smaller Spring intake for selected departments. Applicants apply online through admissions.ajku.edu.pk, upload their documents, pay the processing fee via challan and then wait for department-wise merit lists, which for Fall 2026 are already posted on the official site. Entry Test and Merit

Most BS programmes at UAJK are admitted on academic merit from intermediate marks. The university’s own UGAT (University Graduate Assessment Test) is required for MPhil and PhD admission, not for BS, and engineering programmes follow the merit rules in the advertisement. Fee Structure

The official website links a Fee Structure page but the amounts were not visible on a page we could verify — check the official website. As a public university, UAJK charges semester-wise dues that are considerably lower than private institutions in Islamabad or Lahore.
