RMU Undergraduate Admissions 2026-27

As of October 2026, Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) has a live MBBS cycle: its homepage announced on 16 October 2026 that “the portal for MBBS & BDS applications has been opened”, pointing applicants to the UHS public MBBS and BDS portals. The MDCAT 2026 result is already out. RMU’s own Allied Health Sciences and BS Nursing admissions for 2026-27 are expected in the same autumn window; check the official website for the notice. Postgraduate admissions for session 2027-28 are also advertised but are outside this record. Background: RMU profile; test: RMU entry test page.

Admission Schedule

Programs Open for Admission

• MBBS (through UHS central admission; RMU as a college preference)

BDS is not taught at RMU; the BDS portal link on its site is for other Punjab public dental colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS: FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent with the minimum in the UHS policy 2026-27, MDCAT 2026 pass, Punjab domicile for provincial seats.

How to Apply

1. Open the UHS public MBBS portal and register with your MDCAT roll number.
2. Enter academic marks, upload documents and list RMU among your college preferences.
3. Pay the UHS processing fee and submit before the closing date.
4. For AHS or BS Nursing, download the application from rmur.edu.pk/admissions when advertised and submit with the fee receipt.
5. Track merit lists; on selection, deposit fees and complete enrolment at RMU with original documents.

Applicants targeting RMU specifically should remember that the MBBS seat is allotted by UHS, not by RMU, so contacting the university about MBBS merit will not help; the RMU admissions office handles only AHS, nursing and postgraduate queries. Keep an eye on the RMU homepage notice board, which carried the 16 October 2026 portal announcement before many students saw it elsewhere. Hostel allocation for first-year MBBS students is handled after enrolment and is limited, so apply for it early. If you are also applying to NUST, COMSATS or other non-medical universities as a backup, remember that their Fall 2026 cycles have mostly closed, so a Spring 2027 backup plan may be needed.

Entry Test and Merit

MDCAT is compulsory for MBBS and AHS. UHS builds the MBBS merit list for the whole province; RMU prepares its own AHS and nursing merit lists from the formula in its prospectus. See the RMU entry test page and the UHS entry test page.

Fee and Scholarships

Fee amounts are not displayed as text on rmur.edu.pk — check the official website and the UHS prospectus. RMU advertises a large scholarship list (“459+”) on its homepage; HEC Need Based and PEEF are the usual public schemes. See the scholarships archive.
