The Ravi Campus at Pattoki is the largest sub-campus of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. It lies in Pattoki, Kasur district, Punjab, about 80 km south of Lahore on the Multan road. According to the official campus page, the campus dates from June 2002, when the College of Veterinary Sciences was upgraded to university status and the Punjab Government allotted land at Pattoki; it covers about 1,000 acres.
About the Campus
UVAS uses the Ravi Campus as its main teaching-and-research farm. The land grows fodder for the university’s dairy and small-ruminant farms and for experimental animals, and it hosts the Faculty of Animal Production and Technology, the Faculty of Fisheries and Wildlife and the Institute of Continuing Education and Extension. DVM students split their degree between the City Campus in Lahore and Ravi Campus, which gives them hands-on exposure to livestock on a working farm.
The campus has grown into a full residential campus with academic blocks, halls of residence, an IT centre, a pet centre and a sports complex. Its name comes from the Ravi river region, and the official admission pages refer to it as ‘Ravi Campus’ rather than Pattoki.
