IoBM Entry Test 2026-27

About This Entry Test

The Institute of Business Management screens undergraduate applicants with its own aptitude test and an interview. This page covers the verified Spring 2027 schedule, eligibility and the SAT exemption rule. Read the IoBM profile for background and the IoBM admissions 2026-27 for the full cycle.

Which Test Is Required

All BBA and BS applicants across CBM, CCSIS and CESD take the IoBM aptitude test. The institute publishes a sample paper for BBA/BS applicants on its admissions page. SAT is the only alternative: 550 or more in Math, 550 or more in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and a total of 1,100 or more, with the score valid for one year.

Merit Formula

IoBM does not publish a weightage formula; the final decision rests on the aptitude test, academic record and interview. Check the official website.

Note that the aptitude test is not held for MS and PhD applicants except in CCSIS, so the 14 November sitting is specifically for undergraduate and MBA candidates. The result is released on the portal rather than by email, and interview slots are assigned in the days immediately after, so applicants travelling from outside Karachi should plan to be available in the first week of December.

Preparation Tips

  • Work through the official sample paper to learn the mix of English, quantitative and analytical questions.
  • Brush up on O Level or Intermediate mathematics, particularly percentages, ratios and data interpretation.
  • Read business news and practise summarising arguments; the interview carries significant weight.
  • If your SAT is above the thresholds, submit it to skip the test, but still prepare for the interview.
  • Pay the fee before 7 November 2026; late payment means no admit card.
