Institute of Business Management

The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) is a private degree-awarding institution at Korangi Creek, Karachi, Sindh, that began as the College of Business Management in the mid-1990s (founded by the late Shahjehan Syed Karim; confirm the exact charter year on the official site) and is today best known for its BBA and business degrees, with strong computer science, economics and social science colleges added over time. IoBM appears on the HEC recognised universities list, so its degrees are HEC recognised.

Admission Process

IoBM admits in Fall and Spring. Spring 2027 admissions are open as of October 2026. The official six-step process:

Submit the online application on the admissions portal.
Prepare attested academic records, two passport photos on white background and, if relevant, an employer certificate.
Upload documents and pay the Rs. 3,000 aptitude test/processing fee online to receive the admit card.
Sit the aptitude test; shortlisted candidates are invited for interview.
Attend the interview, which the institute calls the most important step.
If on the merit list, pay the fee by the deadline; waitlisted candidates are notified afterwards.

Entry Test and Merit

IoBM uses its own aptitude test followed by interview. SAT scores of at least 550 Math, 550 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 1,100 total (valid one year) exempt applicants from the test. No merit formula is published. Details are in the IoBM entry test guide.

Fee Structure

The official fee page lists bachelor-level tuition at Rs. 9,800 per credit hour (Rs. 29,400 per course; Rs. 176,400 full-load tuition plus Rs. 10,000 registration, Rs. 186,400 per semester), with a second table at Rs. 8,910 per credit hour (Rs. 170,380 per semester). The page does not label which table applies to which intake. A one-time, non-refundable admission fee of Rs. 50,000 applies, and Sindh Sales Tax is charged from 1 July 2024.
