Nishtar Entry Test 2026-27

Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Multan admits MBBS and BDS students through the Punjab-wide MDCAT merit managed by UHS Lahore; there is no separate Nishtar entrance test for medicine or dentistry. For its BS technology and nursing degrees the university runs its own application and merit process. Which Test Is Required

• MBBS and BDS: MDCAT (PM&DC), conducted in Punjab by UHS; application via the UHS public portal.
• BS technology programmes (Anaesthesia, MLT, Renal Dialysis, Optometry, Imaging, HND, Orthotics, Gastroenterology): NMU notice; merit basis per the advertisement — check the official website for whether MDCAT is required.
• BSN generic: NMU College of Nursing notice.
• Postgraduate: UHS PGET; NMU publishes PG entrance test results on its site.

Test Pattern

MDCAT 2026 was conducted on 20 September 2026 (moved from 16 August 2026 — Source: PM&DC). The paper structure is published by PM&DC at https://mdcat.pmdc.pk.

Eligibility

• MBBS/BDS: FSc Pre-Medical or IBCC-equivalent with the minimum in the UHS admission policy 2026-27; MDCAT 2026 pass; Punjab domicile for provincial seats.
• BS technology: FSc Pre-Medical (some streams may accept other science groups) — check the NMU notice.
• BSN: FSc Pre-Medical and the age/health conditions in the nursing notice.

Registration and Fee

MDCAT: register on the PM&DC portal in the summer window; fee as per the PM&DC notice — check the official website. UHS application: publicmbbs.uhs.edu.pk. NMU allied health: application form and fee as per the notice on nmu.edu.pk/admission.

Schedule

MDCAT 2026: 20 September 2026 (verified). UHS MBBS/BDS applications: opened mid-October 2026 per college notices; deadline — check the official website. NMU allied health: the last cycle ran 12 December 2025 to 6 January 2026, so expect a December 2026 window; check the official website.

Preparation Tips

• Follow the PM&DC MDCAT syllabus chapter by chapter; it is the only authoritative scope.
• Practise Biology diagrams and Chemistry reactions daily — recall questions dominate.
• Do Physics numericals with a timer; the marks per minute ratio decides your pace.
• Attempt at least ten full mock papers before the test and analyse each one.
• Prepare documents early: domicile from your district, Matric and FSc certificates and CNIC are needed for UHS and NMU forms.
