Nishtar Medical University Multan

Nishtar Medical University (NMU) in Multan, Punjab, is a public sector medical university and, in its own words, “the first and by now only medical university of south Punjab”. Nishtar Medical College was founded in 1951-52 and upgraded to a university by the Punjab Government in 2017; the institution marked its Platinum Jubilee in 2026. Attached to Nishtar Hospital, one of the largest tertiary hospitals in the region, NMU offers MBBS, BDS, generic BSN nursing and a wide range of four-year BS technology degrees. Admission Process

MBBS and BDS: centralised through UHS Lahore. Candidates apply once on the UHS public sector portal after MDCAT and rank Nishtar Medical College and Nishtar Institute of Dentistry among their choices. See the UHS profile.
Allied Health (BS technology) programmes: NMU invites applications itself. The last advertised cycle opened on 12 December 2025 and closed on 6 January 2026 for “4 Year Allied Health Programs”, so the 2026-27 notice can be expected around December 2026.

Entry Test and Merit

Fee Structure

Campuses

NMU operates on one campus beside Nishtar Hospital on Nishtar Road, Multan, with the Nishtar Institute of Dentistry and College of Nursing on the same site. No sub-campus is listed on the official website.
