UAJK Entry Test 2026-27

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir fills most of its BS seats on open merit, so there is no single compulsory entry test for undergraduate applicants. Its in-house UGAT applies to MPhil and PhD admission, while a few professional programmes follow national tests. This guide sets out what applies to which programme in 2026-27. Which Test Is Required

• BS programmes in science, humanities, social sciences, management: open merit on intermediate marks
• BS/BSc Electrical and Software Engineering: merit as per the advertisement; check the official website for any aptitude test
• LLB: HEC Law Admission Test (LAT) — etc.hec.gov.pk
• DPT, BSN and allied health programmes: criteria in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences advertisement
• MPhil/PhD: UGAT (University Graduate Assessment Test) — ugat.ajku.edu.pk

Eligibility

• Intermediate or equivalent with at least the minimum marks stated in the advertisement for the programme
• Relevant subject group: FSc Pre-Medical for life sciences and health programmes, Pre-Engineering/ICS for engineering and computing
• IBCC equivalence for O/A-Level or foreign qualifications
• Domicile of AJK for state seats; reserved seats for other regions as advertised

Registration and Fee

Undergraduate applications are made at admissions.ajku.edu.pk. UGAT candidates register at the UGAT site, generate a challan and pay at any HBL branch, then post the printed form to the Directorate of Students’ Affairs at Chehla Campus. Fee amounts are not displayed on a page we could verify — check the official website.

Schedule

Fall undergraduate admissions at UAJK are advertised in July–August with merit lists in September–October; the Fall 2026 department-wise merit lists are already published. Spring admissions for selected departments are usually advertised in December–January. Check the official website for exact 2026-27 dates.

Merit Formula

The official merit formula for BS programmes is not published on a page we could verify — check the official website. Admission is understood to be based on intermediate marks with matric as a tie-breaker.

Preparation Tips

• Since merit is academic, make sure your intermediate result card and equivalence are complete and error-free
• Apply for more than one department to use your marks fully
• LLB applicants should book the HEC LAT well before the UAJK deadline
• Keep domicile and photographs ready; missing documents are the most common reason forms are rejected
• Watch the official website for the department-wise lists, which can be posted on different days
