UoB Entry Test 2026-27
About This Entry Test
This guide explains how undergraduate admission testing works at the University of Balochistan (UoB), Quetta, for the 2026-27 cycle. UoB does not run a single branded university-wide test; instead the requirement depends on the program you apply to. Read this page together with the UoB university profile and the UoB admissions 2026-27 record.
Which Test Is Required
- General BS programs (arts, social sciences, languages, many sciences): admission is on merit of intermediate marks, with an NTS test used where the department requires it (the admission notice states ‘NTS test where applicable’).
- Pharm-D and DPT: these professional programs are competitive and require FSc Pre-Medical; check the current notice for the test applied to them.
- BS Computer Science and related IT tracks: typically listed among departments that use the test; confirm in the current year’s notice.
- Affiliated colleges: admission to BS programs at affiliated colleges follows the college’s own schedule under UoB rules.
Because the list of test-based departments changes from year to year, always rely on the official admission notice rather than last year’s experience.

UoB has not published a university-specific pattern on a page we could verify. NTS tests for university admissions generally cover English, quantitative reasoning, analytical ability and subject knowledge, but confirm the exact breakdown from the roll-number slip or NTS notice for your session.
Eligibility
- Intermediate (FA, FSc, ICS, I.Com) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board.
- Minimum marks vary by program; most general BS programs ask for roughly 45 to 50 percent, while Pharm-D and DPT ask for FSc Pre-Medical with higher marks. Check the official website for the exact figure for your program.
- Candidates awaiting their intermediate result may apply provisionally.
- Domicile of Balochistan is required for reserved seats; open-merit seats are announced separately.
Registration and Fee
Apply through the UoB online admission system (cms.uob.edu.pk/ugso). The application processing fee is paid through the bank challan generated on the system; where NTS is required, the NTS test fee is paid separately to NTS. Fee amounts for the 2026-27 cycle: check the official website.
Schedule
UoB’s main undergraduate intake is Fall. Third-party listings for Fall 2026 showed an extended deadline at the end of August 2026 with the cycle now closed; the test is typically held a few weeks after the deadline, followed by merit lists in September-October. Exact dates for the next cycle: check the official website.
Merit Formula
No official merit weightage for UoB undergraduate admissions could be verified. Where no test is applied, merit is prepared on intermediate marks; where a test is applied, the department’s notice gives the split. Check the official website.
Preparation Tips
- Download the NTS sample paper for the relevant test category and time yourself on it at least twice.
- Revise intermediate-level English grammar and vocabulary, which form a large share of NTS questions.
- Practise basic arithmetic, percentages, ratios and data interpretation without a calculator.
- For science programs, review your FSc textbooks for the subject section rather than coaching notes.
- Keep copies of your CNIC or B-Form, domicile and marks sheets ready so the application is not delayed.
