UET Mardan Entry Test 2026-27
About This Entry Test
Every BSc Engineering seat at UET Mardan is filled through the ETEA Engineering entry test, the provincial test used by all public engineering universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This guide covers which UET Mardan programs need ETEA, how the merit is built, what the non-engineering BS tracks require instead, and how to prepare. Institution details are in the UET Mardan profile.
Which Test Is Required
- BSc Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Software and Telecommunication Engineering: ETEA Engineering test, mandatory under PEC policy for open-merit, self-sustain, self-finance and reserved seats alike.
- BS Computer Science and BS English: no entry test; admission on SSC and HSSC marks.
- Hafiz-e-Quran bonus: a committee evaluation at the university for candidates with a Wifaq-ul-Madaris or other recognised certificate.
- No NTS NAT, HEC USAT or university-run test is used for undergraduate admission.
ETEA registration and the test itself are handled by the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at etea.edu.pk.
Test Pattern
| Item | Detail |

UET Mardan’s own pages publish only the 40 percent weightage of the test; the paper format is set by ETEA each year.
Eligibility
- Intermediate (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical or equivalent) with at least 60 percent unadjusted marks, with the subject combinations allowed by PEC: Physics-Mathematics-Chemistry, Physics-Mathematics-Computer Science, or Biology-Chemistry-Physics.
- DAE holders with at least 60 percent may apply to the relevant engineering discipline as specified on the official website.
- Candidates awaiting the FSc Part II result may apply with the roll-number slip and an undertaking on stamp paper.
- BS CS and BS English eligibility is on the programs eligibility page of the official website.
The 60 percent threshold and subject combinations are reported from the 2026 admission announcement; confirm them on the official website before applying.
Registration and Fee
ETEA registration is done on the ETEA portal and its fee is set by ETEA. The UET Mardan application is separate: Rs. 1,500 for engineering programs at uetmardan.edu.pk/engineering and Rs. 2,000 for non-engineering programs, paid at Bank of Khyber. Schedule
ETEA engineering tests are usually held in June or July, with UET Mardan’s online applications closing in early August (the 2026 deadline was reported as 3 August 2026). Merit lists followed through August, with the fifth-list interviews on 24 and 25 August 2026. Exact 2027 dates: check the official website.
Merit Formula
| Program | SSC | HSSC (adjusted) | ETEA |
| BSc Engineering (all seat categories) | 10% | 50% | 40% |
| BS Computer Science, BS English | 30% | 70% | Not applicable |
Up to 20 extra marks for Hafiz-e-Quran. Ties are broken by higher HSSC marks and then by age. If the FSc Part II result is not declared, merit is computed on matric, FSc Part I and ETEA. Source: https://www.uetmardan.edu.pk/uetm/Admissions/admissiontest.
Preparation Tips
- ETEA is 40 percent of your merit but HSSC is 50 percent — do not let test prep eat your second-year board revision.
- Practise from the FSc textbooks of the KP Textbook Board; ETEA papers track the provincial syllabus closely.
- Solve past ETEA engineering papers under a timer to settle the pace for the MCQ format.
- Register for ETEA early and double-check your name and CNIC against your board certificates; mismatches delay merit lists.
- Keep your Bank of Khyber challan and ETEA result card safe — both are needed at the admission interview.
